Yep.. We are proud to announce Hawaii's DUSTY PAYNE to the KR team! We were hoping to corner Dusty for an interview very soon and accompany it with some mad new footage. Dusty's super pumped on the P3, Parko JP-5s and the new AI-2 - depending on conditions.. We've also started working on his mental new signature fin. Lots to look out for. Check the below shots for confirmation on DP's new found favorites.

JACKS BACK!

Jack has claimed runner up at the Arnette World Junior Championship in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was a standout throughout the event posting the highest single wave score (10.00) as well as the highest heat total (19.70) of the event. Freestone struggled to find the best waves in the final against Brazilian Caio Ibelli at Praia do Diabo (Devils Beach) and fell behind early when Ibelli posed an 8.60. Unfortunately Freestone wasn’t able to answer back and was defeated. Jack has moved into 5th spot on the ASP world Junior ratings with 1 more event left of the 3.

3 for 3. the three fins that Ace & Joel rode to 3rd in SA

Big congratulations to Joel on moving to #1 in the WCT. Also to Ace Buchan (equal 3rd with Joel) in the J-Bay leg of the event.

We've had a few emails about the fins Joel was riding in the first few heats while the waves were smaller. They are proto's of the upcoming PHASE 3 fins to be released at the end of the year. ( a multi layer construction that we have been developing over the past year) More info on P3 will be released in the coming weeks.

Ace has been trialing the KR range for a while now and finding allot of love with the Bi-7, ridding it throughout the j-bay event. More info on the Bi-7 can be found here.

Joel also rode Occy's OC-10 that he also won bells on earlier this year. OC-10 has been his first choice fin for any solid down the line waves so far and they seam to be working for him. More info on the OC-10 can be found here.

Congratulations JP on another Bells Victory. As the story of the win is now old news we can only fill you in on some of the finer details of the win.. Like the fins. Joels been feeling super confident on his latest board (forget me not by JS) and by changing fins would like to be able to surf the same board for most of the tour.

Although surfing his signature template earlier in the week while the waves were smaller (2-3 foot) he made a seamless transition on the same equipment by changing to the OC-10 and kept them in to take out the event.

OC-10 are the best suited fins for powerful down the line conditions and although OC-10 is recommended for a heavier surfer in general conditions Joel often uses this template as a step up from his JP-5's.

PHASE 3 COMING SOON

KR has been working on a new line of ultra hi-performance fins. The layup, template and construction has been narrowed down from a pile of great concepts to one superior fin after extensive R&D, especially focusing on Joel and Luke.

It also looks like a new quad set will be available as part of the PHASE range.

We will be releasing more information in the coming weeks. Keep an eye on this spot or any of the team guys for a sneak look.

AI FOREVER FIN - A TRIBUTE TO THE LEGEND

Andy irons was an integral part of the KR company in its infancy, as not only a team member but personal friend of the company's founders and we wish to carry on the legend with honor and respect.

Before the tragic passing in late 2010 KR were working on a Ai-2 to accommodate the changes in AI's new boards and new found enthusiasm to be back as one of the worlds top surfing elites. After the shock of his death we were left unsure on how to respectively deal with such a sensitive and emotional situation. Collaborating with AI's long time sponsors BILLABONG we have joined a program to help support his young family and remember the Legend.

We have continued his legacy with the release of his AI forever, MK2 signature fins. Release date to be confirmed soon, keep an eye on the site for more information.
